The lean value tree is a conceptual tool for facilitating, sharing, and prioritizing work across all levels of an organization, its teams, and even individuals. The value tree uses a top-down framework of **Vision** > **Strategic Goals** > **Conjecture/Hypothesis** > **Initiatives** > **Tactical Goals**: A company's vision is broken down into strategic goals, which are then defined into conjectures or hypotheses on how to meet those goals. Initiatives with specific, targeted outcomes emerge from those conjectures and can be further broken into tactical goals that a single team or person can reach. ![Lean value tree up to initiative level](Lean%20Value%20Tree.png) Thereby, the tree drives the achievement of the company vision from the bottom up: Having a full view of the value tree reveals which tactical goals need to be met first to achieve the most valuable strategic goals. Importantly, each item on the tree except for the vision should have an associated **Measure of Success** that confirms when the desired outcome of that item has been achieved. ![Attaching a measure of success to each node](Measures%20of%20Success%20for%20each%20node%20of%20the%20Lean%20Value%20Tree.png) Ref/Source: https://www.thoughtworks.com/en-es/insights/blog/digital-transformation/how-to-brew-a-perfect-strategy-responsibly-part-two
